Boots Festival Park Hanley have kindly offered to trolley gather Christmas gifts for the Young Carers Musketeer Project.
Maggie Smith rang the Association on Tuesday 20th September to ask if Boots Festival Park could do something for Christmas for the Young Carers. Maggie explained that they have been in discussion since June regarding what they could do as they have been involved quite a lot with CHILDREN IN NEED.
I arranged a meeting to meet with Maggie Smith and Vicki Bosworth.
At our meeting with Maggie and Vicki they informed us that they were hopeful to open up the trolley gathering to the members of the public and are liaising with their legal team. Maggie and Vicki said they were thinking of getting items such as toiletries and cosmetics including fragrance boxes and bags. We also discussed whether or not they would like us to attend on a Saturday with our pull up and Snuggles the bear to promote what we do and be on hand to talk to members of the public.
Maggie then introduced us to the Store Manager Diane who agreed this would be a good way to get the public to participate. Diane said the team at Boots are a generous bunch and would be happy to provide us with all of the above and also a Makeover Evening. Diane Store Manager said she was also keen to promote via the Sentinel as they get great satisfaction from doing this sort of thing for the local community.
