In May Young Carers and their families were taken on a day trip to sunny Blackpool.
Two Bakers busses arrived at the Carers Centre on Saturday 20th May to an array of excited faces.
The journey went well and although it was raining as we travelled there, once we arrived on the coach park with Blackpool in the near distance the sun was trying to show its face. Everyone went off happily for their adventure by the sea.
As everyone returned later that day it was clear to see that everyone had had so much fun. Many stories were told of what they had got up to – time spent on the beach riding donkeys, going on the pier, others had visited Madam Tussauds, Sea Life, The Dungeons and Blackpool Tower amongst many other experiences.
To see so many happy smiling faces was proof in how important family time is something our Young Carers and their families never experience and one with which a lot of us take for granted.
“Quote of the day”
I felt so low this morning but coming here and being by the sea with my children has given me such a lift we can’t “Thank You all enough”
